The
Gorge House is up the hill from the Columbia River, and the Lyle Point recreational
peninsula. Equally close to the Klickitat River and the new Klickitat Trail.
Deer still come into the yard, birds, and crickets abound. Stars are brilliant
at night. The small western town of Lyle, Washington is located in a dramatic
transition zone between the northwest forests and the western plains. The 15
minute drive between the Hood River bridge and the Gorge House is breathtaking.
You?ll love the area. It?s full of contrasts. Even though gourmet dining, wineries, concerts,and the Maryhill Museum are nearby the old west is here too. Six minutes to Doug?s Beach (wind surfing),seventeen minutes to Hood River. Give yourself time to meander and take in the unique waysides and vistas.
